Ouyang Kang is the vice chairman of HUST Committee, the superintendent of the Philosophy Research Institute and the editor of the HUST transaction (social science edition).

• From 1993 to 1995, professor at Department of Philosophy of Wuhan University, supervisor for doctors
• From 1995 to 1999, head at Department of Philosophy of Wuhan University (from 1995 to 1996, senior visiting scholar at Department of Philosophy of London University, in 1996.12, dean of School of Philosophy)

Ouyang Kang mainly dedicates in the research and teaching of Marxism philosophy, first advocating Social Cognition Theory and making it a research destination for masters and doctors. He has more than ten publications as

He used to be the head of the editorial board of Principles of Marxism Philosophy led by Ministry of Education of China and Hubei provincial government, published over 200 academic theses either in English or in Chinese at China Social Science and Philosophy Research, awarded the Excellent Achievement Prize in philosophy and social science from both Ministry of Education of China and Hubei provincial government for ten times, hosted over 10 scientific research project of the country, Ministry of Education of China, Hubei provincial government and international cooperation and has been abroad for academic exchange and cooperative research for many times. Meanwhile, he is a member of Social Science Committee of Ministry of Education of China, appraiser for National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office, contributing appraiser for Marxism Committee of State Council, deputy director of Academic Atmosphere Construction Committee of Ministry of Education of China, deputy director of Philosophy Education Guiding Committee of National Colleges and Universities, vice president of Hubei Philosophy Academic Association, director of China Dialectical Materialism Research Association, standing director of International Association for Philosophers. From 1992, he has been receiving a special subsidy from state council and was selected into the cultivation plan of "Cross-centurial Excellent Talent" Project of Ministry of Education of China of China and "Millions of Talents" Project of National Ministry of Personnel.
