|
A delegate of 15 people, from Hongkong Alumni Association, led by its chairman, Zhang Yuqi, paid a visit to their almamater, HUST, from April, 23rd to April, 25th. They had visited chief leaders of the university and the alumni association, as well as their teachers and classmates. Besides, they also held a banquet to express their gratitude to both current and previous leaders. President, Li Peigen, met those alumni coming from afar and talked about the development of the university. Later, they came all the way to pay a visit to previous president, Zhu Jiusi, who held a warm reception and chatted with them earnestly and pleasantly. The alumni delegate also received warm reception from director and associate director of the Office of Taiwan, Macau and Hongkong ‘s Affairs, and leaders from Alumni Association. During the two-day visit, the alumni representatives had visited many old places they knew, and also many new places, such as Yuyuan Community, East 9 Building, and National Opto-electrical Lab and so on. With an average age of 72 as they were, they still enjoyed a lot in climbing Yujia Mountain, appreciating Jing Lake and sauntering in Youth Park in a happy mood. Strolling on Zijing Road, they recalled all the past of planting trees, growing grass and building roads with previous president when HUST was under a harsh condition. However, now, the campus had taken on a new look, and kept on growing vigorously. Although they were no longer young, they still kept an eye for their almamater’s development and were glad to help out for it and all the alumni. They all expressed the idea that they were willing and honored to contribute their share to the development of HUST. On April, 25th, the alumni returned to Hongkong in a reluctant departing atmosphere. |
