The Military Inspection Ceremony for the 2004 Freshmen Held

A grand military inspection ceremony for the 2004 freshmen was held in the University central gymnasium on September 23rd.

Escorting the national flag is an essential part of the yearly inspection on the military training. To the magnificent music, three students, taller than 1.8m, escort the national flag to the flagpole, striding across the playground. Throughout the whole serious process, they maintained a unified posture holding the guns.

In the performance of the inspection, the girl students performed the military exercise, which had always been performed by the boy students in the past. Their every movement was standard and not without force, which changed the traditional view that the girls could only make a show.

Among the twenty military groups, two of them were specially made of boy students holding guns, who were carefully chosen by the military trainers. These boys had to put up the performance related to the guns. With greater sonority and smarter walk, their morale impressed all the audience.

The inspection went on smoothly, and all the freshmen presented a satisfactory performance with their youth and passion for the trainers and supervisors who had directed them diligently.

The inspection ceremony was chaired by Prof Feng Youmei, Vice President of HUST. Attended the ceremony were University leaders like Prof Huang Guanying, Prof Cao Shuqin and Prof Xiang Jizhou as well as officers from military colleges.
