Undertaken by HUST, International Conference on Manufacturing Automation 2004 was held in Lake View Garden Hotel on Otc. 27 to 29, with over one hundred experts from 10 countries and areas attending. On the topic of "advanced design and manufacturing under the circumstance of global competition", experts held mutual communications and further discussed technology issues on related fields. Chairman of HUST Committee Zhu Yuquan delivered a speech in the opening ceremony of the Conference. Prof. Lei Yuanzhong from National Natural Science Fund Committee, Vice President Li Peigen, academician Xiong Youlun attended the Conference.
