As reported on the official website, the first result of the 2005 National College Students’ Mathematics Contest in Modelling has been announced, our university’s students that took part in it got a good result: 2 teams have won the National First Prize.

As that we know, the 2005 National College Students’ Mathematics Contest in Modelling is a public technologic activity open to all Chinese college students, in order to inspire the students to learn mathematics more actively, improve their comprehension, including setting up mathematics models and solving the practical problems with computer techniques, etc. And it can also encourage our students to participate in a lot of extracurricular activities in science and technology fields, extending their vision and cultiving their creativity and team spirit. This contest is the “top” one in China and the one that is paid most attention to by our university’s students.
