On the morning of 3rd Nov, 2005 HUST Fall Sports Games was held on the Central Playground, the University leaders, Prof. Zhu Yuquan, Prof. Li Peigen, Prof. Feng Youmei, Prof. Feng Xiangdong attended and watched the opening ceremony.

Total 40 teams attended the team parade. They were national flag team, colored flags team, judges teams, flowers team, international students team and teams from schools and departments. After the parade, flag--raising ceremony followed next. The Five-Star Red Flag was rising with the solemn national anthem and was finally flying over the central playground. President Li Peigen delivered a speech for the opening ceremony, expressing his greetings for the opening of the Games and his sincere compliments to all the judges and athletes and encouraging athletes to courageously strives for success, obtains the excellent result. Vice President Prof. Feng Xiangdong, Director of Sports Committee announced 2004--2005 HUST Excellent Group and Individual in Mass Sports. He first reviewed our great achievement in the past year and then expressed his sincere wishes towards the Games.

The representatives of judges and athletes then gave their vows, showing their determination to achieve a fair competition.

Total 1043 athletes from 40 schools and departments will be involved in 61 games in the following two days.
