On the morning of March 9, the inauguration ceremony of HUST-ChinaCache Joint Lab took place in the meeting room of the Dept. of Electronics and Information Engineering in South I Building. Among those present were Vice-president of HUST, Wang Yanjue, CEO of ChinaCache Corporation, Wang Song and other principals from the Office of Science & Technology and the Dept. of Electronics and Information Engineering. The ceremony was emceed by Liang Qian, party secretary of the Dept. of Electronics and Information Engineering.

Wang Shu, the Dean of the Dept. of Electronics and Information Engineering, first expressed a warm welcome to Wang Song and the others. Then, he briefly presented some basic information about ChinaCache Corporation and the Dept. of Electronics and Information Engineering highlighting their respective strengths. Furthermore, he sincerely hoped that the two parties could share mutual support in Internet Theory, Basic Research and Application so as to promote the development of CDN industry of China. Later on, he spelled out the principles of cooperation, construction goals and the activities of the Joint Lab.

Wang Yanjue, vice president of HUST, and Wang Song signed a contract in a joyous atmosphere on behalf of their respective parties.

Wang Song showed the high hopes his had for cooperation with HUST. He stated that ChinaCache was founded in 1998 as the biggest professional CDN service provider in China to offer their clients solutions for rapid delivery of omni-directional network content. As the first CDN service provider licensed by the Ministry of Information Industry, ChinaCache has more than 70 nodes in all big cities of the nation, covering such operators as China Telecom, China Netcom, China Unicom, China Mobile, CERNET and China Railcom. Moreover, he expects that together his corporation and HUST will have a successful cooperation and promote the development of the industry of China Internet with their joint efforts.

Xia Xiangdong, deputy director of the office of science & technology, noted our appreciation for the support HUST has received from ChinaCache Corporation. He wished the two parties would further promote the establishment of disciplines and cultivation of talents, and make a greater contribution to social service work through their cooperation.

To conclude the ceremony, Wang Yanjue and Wang Song together inaugurated the foundation of the Joint Lab.
