The opening ceremony of Metal Crafts Experimental & Training Center and Computer Open Lab of HUST was held on March 5. Many school leaders attended, including Zhu Yuquan, Ding Hanchu and Xiang Jizhou, who cut the ribbons. Wang Cheng, vice president of HUST, was the master of ceremony.
The school leaders inspected the Engineering Training Center, praised its establishment, and wished it well. Additionally, they expressed the hope that the faculty could manage and utilize the center as a place for metal craft training, innovation, and practice with top-ranking service and excellent environment.
The Engineering Training Center is located in the neighborhood of East Lake, bordering the national forest park of Wuhan and YunYuan apartments for undergraduates. The center, shaped like the English letter E, has a total area of over 13, 000 square meters, with the Metal Crafts Experimental & Training Center occupying 11,000 square meters and the Computer Open Lab the remaining 2,000 square meters.
The Metal Crafts Experimental & Training Center looked brand-new after reconstruction. It has larger teaching capacity, more training functions, and more machines for the students. Its capacity allows up to 400 students to carry out ordinary training and another 200 students to undertake innovation and practice with its spacious environment and better security. In addition, it enables the students to experience engineering practice, gain craft knowledge, enhance practical ability, learn innovative training, cultivate comprehensive diathesis and grow the innovative talents needed in the new century.
More than 300 people participated in the opening ceremony, including principals from the Equipment Office, Network Center, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office and Infrastructure Management Office as well as faculty of the Training Center and some students. |
