On Mar.19, Nobuo OKUBO，the president of Japanese automobile association, consultant on technique, Tong Dongcheng, the vice-president of DongFeng came to visit our college.

The Principal Li Peigen, Vice-Principal Liu Wei met with a visiting mission. Both sides had an ardent dicussion. The leading cadres from the International Communication Department, Material College and Resources College attended the meeting.

First, Li Peigen gave a warm welcome to the Japanese guests. He said that Wuhan is not only the place where Dongfeng is located in, but Wuhan is a developed area for the automobile industry of China. Nobuo OKUBO is a famous expert of automobile with abundant experiences. We believe that he will bring us some new ideas and promote the communication related to automobiles to our college.

Nobuo OKUBO pointed out that the development of the automobile industry is accelerating. Sales volume is third in the world. Japanese automobiles are famous for their high quality and technology. Dongfeng has been a fresh activist for Chinese automobiles. He also hopes that visiting Wuhan will help Chinese experts know more about world-wide automobile industry.

Before the meeting, the visitors had visited the School of Mechanical Science and Technology，School of Material，and Wuhan Photoelectric Laboratory.

In the afternoon, Nobuo OKUBO gave a lecture about tendencies if the automobile industry and received a positive response.

Nobuo OKUBO,graduated from the Machinery Partment of Tokyo University. He joined the Japanese Automobile company in April 1964. Then,he took charge of the design department as Vice-President and became the President of the Japanese Automobile Association.
