On Nov. 11th , the ceremony of signing a comprehensive cooperative agreement between our university and institute of biophysics, Chinese Academy of Science was held in South 3 building and presided by the executive vice-president of HUST, Ding Hanchu. Zhu Yuquan, secretary of the Party Committee of the university, and Xu Tao, director of the institute have been present in the signing ceremony.

In his speech, Zhu extended warm welcome to the visiting leaders of the institute on behalf of the university and hoped that the two sides can intensify their cooperation in disciplinary research and talent cultivation.

Yang Xinke, secretary of the Party Committee of the institute expressed his sincere wish to promote the cooperation and exchange between Chinese Academy of Science and the university under a new situation of "Cooperation Between the Institute and the University" , and to obtain complementary advantages so as to create a win-win situation.

Later, Zhu and Xu jointly-signed "A Comprehensive Cooperative Agreement Between Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Science."

According to the agreement, the two sides will establish a joint laboratory to develop scientific and teaching activities, combining its own developing direction and utilizing the advantages; HUST will have the priority to recommend a certain amount of graduate students who are exempted from the entrance examination to the institute according to its demand; two sides will declare and undertake together the scientific research projects from the nation and Chinese Academy of Science and other major technology and science projects as well; two sides will draw up a joint plan for young talents cultivation to bring up and recommend outstanding young people; Institute of Chinese Academy of Science will actively accelerate the cooperation between HUST and other institutes of Chinese Academy of Science and make full use of the resources to strengthen the combination of production and academic research, the commercialization of research achievements and the construction of talent-cultivation cradles.

During the ceremony, research fellows of institute of Chinese academy of science, Chen Runsheng and Liang Wei were employed as part-time professors of our university.

Participants in this activity were the assistant of president of the university, Institute of Chinese Academy of Science, and corresponding departments of the university.
