From Nov 7th to 10th, Zhu Yuquan, Chairman of HUST Committee and other school officials attended the Fifth China-Japan Universities Presidents Forum held in Tokyo and the 130th Anniversary of University of Tokyo.

Under the guidance of Chinese and Japanese Higher Education Research Institutes, the forum aims to exchange ideas about the two countries’ education and academic research. Held in turns, the fourth forum was in Xi’an China with attendance of President Li Peigen of HUST. At the fifth forum, with the purpose of further exchanges among Chinese and Japanese universities, the two sides conducted extensive exchanges and discussions about common problems arising in the two counties’ universities. Furthermore, the two sides aimed to strengthen cooperation among universities under new situation, and to promote educational exchange to a new stage.

Zhang Xinsheng, deputy minister from Ministry of Education was present at the forum and delivered a keynote speech. Also present were Japanese government leaders and presidents from 16 Chinese universities and 19 Japanese universities.

Zhu Yuquan, Chairman of HUST Committee, delivered a speech at the forum. He introduced our cooperation with Japan, and emphasized that we would continue to strengthen the cooperation and exchange in the next few years, attach great significance to the introduction of talents and techniques, actively send excellent students to top universities, cultivate talents with international vision and innovation, and improve our academic development.

At the forum, HUST discussed with Kyushu University and Ritsumeikan University about cooperation issues, which laid a foundation for future cooperation in scientific research and students’ exchange.

After the forum, at the invitation of Tokyo University, Zhu Yuquan participated in the 130th Anniversary of Tokyo University.
