From 16 to 18, Nov, the Second International Conference on the 21st Century City Development co-sponsored by HUST and China City Planning Association was held in our university. The theme of the conference is set on the hot issue “city localization in globalization” and corresponding discussion was then developed in detail.

There are four sections of the conference, “city industry and policy”, “city ecology and environment”, “city scenery and feature” and “city culture and history”. It is said that the conference will be held every two years, thus providing a platform for academic exchanges among international and domestic academy. The conference was first held in our university in 2004. During the conference, not only dissertations with regard to the four sections were presented, but also related exhibition was displayed.
